Projects I'm currently working on, considering the fact that I could possibly have my baby in my arms by let's say...next week. These are projects I'd be working on anyway, but I'm now working on them with much more fervor than I would have otherwise.
1. Wetbag for the cloth diapers. For a good tutorial on this, I have a link on my other blog, One Mother's Adventure in Cloth Diapering. Feel free to check it out and share with your friends if you'd like. Remember, wet bags are NOT just for cloth diapering! They would be great for wet swimsuits after a pool or beach day, for wet baby clothes in a diaper bag, so you don't have to use plastic grocery bags, just to name a couple of other uses.
I have it all sewn together, I am just trying to figure out how I want to do the opening. I don't want to just do a draw string and because my zipper wasn't delivered, I won't be doing that...I know, "Why not just go get a zipper?"
Again...the maniacal pregnancy hormones are to blame here.
2. Baby sling. I have beautiful fabric I got from a shop in Yellow Springs, Ohio. It's woven and is covered in OM symbols. I love it and I love the colors. I have found a tutorial for this as well. I'm not using double fabrics for mine, as my fabric doesn't have a "wrong" side and it is sturdily woven, so I'm going to be skipping a few steps in the turotial. However, I may make one like the tutorial for winter time, as it may be warmer...plus it's cool to have choices.
I'll post pics later...my husband and I are down to sharing the Mac these days, because my PC got a virus that basically fried the entire thing. He needs the Mac for work. I'm posting these tutorials for my benefit as well, so I can look them up on my phone later when I'm ready to begin working on both projects.
Happy sewing if you plan to try one! Be patient with yourself, enjoy the process, and remember, little mistakes don't matter so much in the end....just be sure you get the ring SECURELY sewn on the sling. That's one thing you MUST get right. ;-)
Blessings.
PS. I tried several turning techniques yesterday and last night to no avail. My baby's head is securely resting just below my sternum. I hate that she'll have to undergo the ECV, but I'm sure everything will be fine.
I did end up doing the drawstring, but I made the string from butterfly fabric. I made a loop for hanging near the changing table. Next up: baby sling.
