*someone put out the fire in my chest!*
So it's 3:19 am and I woke up to two delightful things...
1. Heartburn radiating in my chest and up into my throat. I couldn't lie down. Tried propping myself up, but it made no difference. Plus, my mind had wandered to another issue at hand - my left hand, that is...
2. My hands were swollen and my brilliant self decided last night to put ON my wedding band, because I had forgotten to put it on during the day. I decided since my left hand didn't swell THAT much that I'd wear it through the night. Not the best idea I've ever had, I might add. My hand was throbbing and swollen. When I tried to bend my fingers into a fist, I couldn't bend my ring finger. I wet my finger in my mouth and tried to pull it off, but it didn't budge and my finger hurt like hell. So, I went downstairs to the bathroom, where I got it wet in cold water and lathered it up in soap. With some struggle, it finally came off.
Lesson learned.
With that ordeal under control and my wedding ring safely placed in the pocket of my robe (note to self: your wedding ring is in your robe pocket! Don't forget with your brilliant pregnant brain and wash said robe or toss it somewhere and lose your wedding band!), I went to the kitchen to get a small glass of milk, in hopes that it might help with the insane heartburn I was experiencing. When I pulled a glass from the cabinet, another wanted to join the party, but plummeted to its death across the counter and onto the floor.
Let's just say a burglar could come and invade our home if we are asleep upstairs with the A/C unit on, because as loud as the shattering glass was, K didn't come to investigate and he is the type to grab his gun and do just that.
With a sigh, I got the broom, swept the floor, walking gingerly across the floor to avoid any small shards, then used a wet paper towel to get up the pieces from the counter. I threw away the fruit (getting close to it's expiration date anyway) that was in the zone of shattered glass, just to be safe. I'd hate to bite into a mango and get more than I wanted.
Now I'm sitting upright on the couch, hoping the Tums I just took will help with the heartburn so I can go back to bed. I'm so tired.
I have never in my life had heartburn until this pregnancy. NEVER...and I hope after this pregnancy I never have it again. Ugh...I feel for those who have to deal with it often. It's miserable.
