Goal Setting.

Now I just need the li'l one.

Some fun, personal touches in the nursery:
1. Instead of buying a mobile, I bought three little animals from Michael's that were on sale for $2.00 each. There's a frog, rooster, and grasshopper. :) They are so cute and when she is able to climb up to get them, I'll take them down.
2. I made her crib quilt.
3. I made the butterflies that hang over the window. I thought they filled the empty space nicely and added a girly touch to the room.
4. In her bassinet is a quilt made by a friend of mine.
5. One her changing table, in the left white basket are several burp cloths I made. The basket is decorated with a ribbon and a sign that says, "spit happens."
6. On the shelf is a blanket my friend knitted for her. It's lovely and matches the nursery perfectly!
7. The lanterns are from our wedding. I wanted her to have a piece of that special day and they serve as a nice reminder of that day for us as well. Plus, they have butterflies on them, which go along with the ones above the window.

I love her room. It's restful, sunny, and very sweet. I can't wait to have her in there. The only thing we don't have that I wish we did is a glider or rocking chair. I'd really love to get one. There is still time, maybe I'll find an inexpensive one at a yard sale. I'd hate to pay retail. Bargain shopping is my new favorite thing. :)

Because I can sometimes allow things to worry me to death or get me down, I'm going to try to set a goal for myself each day...if not each day, then a weekly goal. So, I'm starting today and I guess it's a good day to start considering it's the first day of the week and I have a big event on Tuesday.

GOAL:
My goal for today is to not worry. All this worrying just isn't good for me or the baby. I'm tired of crying over every little thing.

My mantra: Any bumps in the road today will add interest to stories told tomorrow.

The bassinet will go downstairs once she is here, so she can nap while I'm doing other things in the house. I don't want her to get used to silence when sleeping. I made that mistake with my first son and he never slept well. With my second son, the house was constantly noisy, because I had a toddler...he was a GREAT sleeper, because little noises didn't wake him. Lesson learned. ;-)

I got the vinyl tree from Target for $9.99. It's easy to put on and take off. I like it because it'll give Kathryn something to look at while she's being changed, without me having to hang something above the changing table.
