We bought huggies for vacation and darn it if I didn't enjoy the freedom of "use and toss and forget about it," among other benefits.
When we ran out, I put Kat in a cloth diaper and of course we had a leak while out. Because I got used to not having leaks while on vaca, I forgot to pack an extra outfit. Grr.
So, I talked to K about the disposables too. We agreed that with her as wiggly as she is, they are FAR easier to get on her. They keep her drier and she seems to sleep better in them. Her clothes fit far better too, especially the pants, which we can barely fit over her cloth dipes and when we do, they are so tight she can't sit up without falling over. This summer has been better, because of her wearing dresses most of the time.
Anyway, we bought another box. I feel like the worst mom EVER for buying more, because I know how terrible they are for the environment.
I'm NOT anti-cloth.
I'm NOT pro-disposables.
I am, as always, just pro-doing-what-works-best-for-you, and I think for us that means, cloth during the day and disposables at night and for outings.
Yes, mother earth, I'm very, very sorry. I will help her use the potty full time as soon as is possible. I promise. I love you, mother earth and I'm sorry....
