The pros try to link the early introduction of foods in infancy to childhood obesity and poor eating habits throughout life. While this may be true (and I'm obviously not an expert), I think this only marginally affects future eating habits.
If your child only eats, say squash or sweet potatoes (or other healthy veggie) in infancy and never has it again and such healthy options are replaced with the ever-popular white potato, them there's the culprit...in my opinion.
If your diet sucks, then your child's will as well, once it is no longer controlled by Beechnut and Gerber (or other baby food corporation).
How to have a healthy eater? Be a healthy eater.
Simple.
Try new foods often. Out taste buds change over time, so what you may have disliked at one time, may become a favorite food. Give a new food several chances and eat it with optimism, as our minds are very powerful.
Ciao and happy eating.
