One of my fitness icons

I've always admired Hilary Swank's physique, because she's not rail thin. She has good muscle tone, yet still looks killer in a form-fitting dress. And hello?! Those arms are amazing.

I thought I'd share this here. I appreciate that she says she eats what she wants, but in moderation. This is absolutely my stance on eating. There are no bad foods, but that doesn't mean you stuff a box of chocolates in your face in one sitting or even one day.  It doesn't mean you eat when bored, or when you're sad or stressed.

Eat simply to fuel your body. Want to eat to treat yourself? Make it special. Focus on it. Spend a little more money, but do it less often. For example, instead of hitting a fast food or low-quality sit-down place like TGIFridays twice a week, go to a super nice restaurant once a month or every other week.

Also, try non-food treats! Get your hair done. Get a facial. Get...away! You're not a dog, so you can look beyond food to treat yourself.
