I have a goal for my closet. I have a vision of what it's going to be.
I'm bored to bits of the trends that hang there for a little while and end up at the Goodwill.
I want pieces that transcend decades of change.
I see a lot of black. I LOVE black clothing.
I want cashmere and linen and cotton and leather and high - quality denim.
I want more amazing shoes.
The look is simple, maybe a little disheveled, yet together. Comfortable, but not frumpy.
Throw a little sex in the mix and there you have it.
I've started the change. I've recently purged my closet down to the nubs and have carefully chosen new pieces that I not only love today, but will love 3 years from now.
I've even streamlined my make - up routine with a BB Cream I love. I hate makeup, except for eye makeup and red lipstick (not at the same time, of course). I can't stand how it feels on my skin.
I want simple, but not basic.
That's the goal. It'll take a while, but that's where it's going.
The trick...I strongly dislike the mall and all the cookie cutter mannequin outfits, so I'll be doing little to no shopping there, opting instead for thrift store, consignment and resale and boutiques in the area. I'll do the fun, super fun shopping for a special piece or two when we go on vacations...like Vegas again so I can maybe grab another Prada piece. God, I love Prada.
