Breastfeeding the older baby

It seems at every stage of infant development, breastfeeding comes with its own set of challenges and sweet moments.

In early weeks, there's nipple soreness, cluster feeding, and latch issues, along with sweet snuggles and staring at your baby as he/she is nestled to your breast.

At around 4 months, the difficulties seem to completely subside and baby has figured out the lay of the er...chest, and breastfeeding is a breeze. I compare it to the second trimester of pregnancy.

For me, with this little gal, 6-7 months has been very easy as far as there have been no physical issues for me. However, Kathryn doesn't want to sit still to nurse. She's all over the place. This morning she basically chased down my breasts as I was re-adjusting in bed. She will now nurse on her belly, sitting up, standing, however she can best latch on at that exact moment. It's funny, except when I want to sleep...like this morning. She is also doing a sort of cluster feeding each morning, which is totally fine, just a difference to be noted.

I'm not sure what's going on. I'm assuming it's another growth spurt or teething.

Like all other things with babies and nursing, "this too shall pass."

She's doing great with solid food and even feeds herself things like steamed sweet potatoes, apples, and cooked tofu. She seems to enjoy doing this a bunch and it's adorable to watch. :)

I find myself worrying about my milk supply again though...I'm sure for no reason, but I am still worried a little.

I always worry...lol

Here's a link for sample schedules for breastfeeding a 7-8 month old, for anyone out there who might be worried like me. It actually alleviated some of my worry, because Kathryn is actually nursing more and eating less food than these babies are and that's what I want.
