"I don't have time to workout."
I've heard this lame excuse for YEARS and even more so now that I'm a stay-at-home mom, because it means (of course) that I'm in the inner secret circle with time fairies, so of course I have more time to workout. Be my friend and maybe I'll introduce them to you too, so you have more than 24 hours a day to do whatever you want.
Seriously.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I can't help it.
It's like this: NO ONE believes that lame excuse.
Nobody.
Sure, I stay at home, so I'm not on a time schedule for another job, but I USED to be and guess what? I MADE time to workout.
When I worked full-time as a teacher, I got up at 6:30 am and started working at my dining table. Then I went to work at 8pm, got home around 5, grabbed dinner, WENT FOR A RUN, then graded papers until around 11pm.
Before that, I worked 2 retail jobs and attended UK full-time, but still managed to workout at least 3 days a week in my apartment gym.
Before that, I was a single mom working 2 part-time jobs and attending a community college full-time, but I worked out an hour a day at home, doing general calisthenics while my boys watched a Disney movie.
Before that, I was at home with infants and did not workout at all. That was my CHOICE. I chose to focus my time on them. I did not workout, except to take walks with them in the stroller.
So...you can make time. You just have to make it a priority and if you don't, then OWN it. Don't just say, "I don't have time," because it's a lie and it implies that you have no control of your life.
If you have 10 minutes to scroll through a Facebook feed, you have time to get in a GREAT high-intensity workout.
If you have 30 minutes to an hour to sit on your couch and watch a primetime show, you have time to get in a GREAT workout.
The time excuse is bullshit. You know it and everyone else does.
Want more energy? Workout.
Feeling depressed and need a mood boost? Workout.
Want to feel more positive? Workout.
Arms beginning to jiggle? Workout.
Belly expanding? Workout.
Want to get down on the floor to play with your kids? Workout.
Joints hurting? Workout.
Insomnia? Workout.
It doesn't solve everything.
It won't be easy.
It is totally worth it.
You'll NEVER regret a workout.
I know this was a tough love post, but I just had to.
xx,
Resa
