Yoga Practice...my "church"

Yoga is my favorite thing to do. Anything I know about it, I've learned on my own. I've been invited to classes and there's a small part of me that wants to go, but mostly, I want my practice to be my own...like praying in solitude, I think I'd much prefer to balance on my tip - toes in solitude as well.

Every time I do it, I am reminded of the quote: "Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought." For me, I want to LEARN it. I want to struggle with it. I want to fall. I want to find my balance and dig deeper into my stretches on my own. Does this mean I'll never be great at it? Perhaps, but that's ok.
I am learning with every attempt. My body is getting more flexible and stronger as well and just as important: I am learning to trust myself. I KNOW that if I try and focus on my breath that my body will find its balance.

It is both empowering and humbling at the same time.

I love it.
It's my connection to Spirit. I feel so close to God/dess when I practice...when I'm quiet inside my mind. It is when I feel the energy around me & through me and I feel most connected to everything.

This is why I workout. To better my yoga practice. And of course, I practice yoga every day, even if only for a few minutes.

Do you feel this way about anything in particular? Is there something that makes you feel connected? Is there something you do daily, not because you MUST, but because you simply love it that much?
