Our vacation was great, but I'm happy to be back home. Our floors look AMAZING! I have the house (mostly) back in order and the tree is up. I'm currently making food for tomorrow's little charity event I'm hosting.
I'm tired, but I can rest on Saturday afternoon.
We've done very little Christmas shopping so far. I guess we'll be doing that Sunday and Monday.
I don't overdo Christmas and never have. I hate all the consumerism tied to it and will only buy into so much. It's my least favorite holiday because of the consumerism, the hype, and the push to buy more and more and more.
It's a fucking joke. I do it for my kids. That's all. It's especially hard when you're in a separated family. There are too dawned many events and someone always gets passed because you couldn't make it to theirs. I say, fuck it! Do what you WANT. It's the holidays. It's not supposed to be stressful. It's about relaxing and being with family and friends.
Make it what you want. Enjoy it and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
