I had a thought...
As we all know (and likely agree), starving a child is child abuse. To underfeed a child is also abuse.
There is no argument. Even if a family was too poor to buy food, they would be guilty of neglect for not seeking help.
That said, why isnt over-feeding children to the point of obesity considered abuse or at the least, child endangerment?
Both malnourishment and obesity can lead to early death and health issues. Why is one considered "okay" in the eyes of the law, but the other not?
To me, they are both child abuse and should be handled accordingly...
Just the way I see it.
