I have to make note here, because I've been really negative on here toward my husband (and NO, I'm not just typing this because my husband happens to read this blog). Two things about my husband that can be absolutely wonderful and annoying at the same time: he is always there for you, whether you like it or not AND he speaks his mind, whether you like it or not. These are two reasons I fell in love with him. It's refreshing to be around someone who gives it to you straight and says the things you NEED to hear but sure as hell don't want to hear them sometimes.
I love him for not being a "yes person."

Ryn's doctor mentioned starting a fluoride treatment when her tooth comes in more. I don't want to do this and I'll have to let him know when he mentions it again. This time (unlike with the Chicken Pox vaccine) I have good reasons.
1. There have been no double blind studies to prove that fluoride reduces cavities.
2. Fluoride works topically, not systemically (according to what I read, from a dentist)
3. The risks seem to great...and the benefits....less cavities? Really?
4. In other countries, where there is no processed food, there are few to no cavities and no fluoride treatment.
5. She can always have it done later.
6. Topical treatments are only necessary in areas with no water fluoridation (we have fluoridated water here)
7. I've read that children get more than they need by simply using fluoridated toothpaste.
Here's a link or two:
Of course, one to the contrary:
Anyway, I'll be rejecting the fluoride treatment for Ryn.
